Reason is a human's only means of interpreting the facts of reality, and, therefore, is one's only means of surviving in the world. Reason--not "instincts," feelings, emotions, wishes or desires--is the singular basis of knowledge and therefore ought to be one's only guide to action.  If Objectivism, the philosophy upon which The Rational View is premised, could be summed up in two words, they would be "follow reason."
